A proto type for Centre for Earth Science Studies (CESS), India: GAIA has prepared an information system for Eravipuram panchayat, Kerala at Cadastral level as a proto type to the Integrated Coastal Area Management (ICAM).

Information System on the Artisanal Fishing Activity.

South Indian Federation of Fishermen Societies (SIFFS), a fishermen’s co-operative organisation, carried out a “low-cost Census of Artisanal Craft” in order to understand the changes taking place among the fishing activities of the coastal Kerala, after the motorisation in the artisanal fisheries sector. GAIA in association with their Information Division undertook the development of GIS based information system with extended query capabilities.

Vehicular Transport planning for a private entrepreneur in Kerala was carried out using Route module. With the help of the information system developed, the distributor could take immediate decisions in allocating the trucks to a particular route considering the load per day and the number of societies to be catered.

Landuse Information System.
|
For a pilot project on Safety Measures in the cyclone-risk areas in the Godavari delta: This FAO pilot project is to look into the feasibility for implementing Safety Measures in the storm surge areas in and around Kakinada and other parts of Godavari delta. GAIA has undertaken the task to develop a Landuse Information System for this project.

Panchayat Level Information system for Muthalamada Panchayat, Kerala.

GAIA has initiated a further step in local level planning process by developing a GIS based information system to be made available later to the Panchayat. Here the information is linked at cadastre level so as to make micro level planning easy.
